Guest guest
Hello Lists, My son was officially dx today with an egg allergy which includes anything made with egg (emulsifiers, etc). Does anyone know where I can buy egg free products like pasta? My son is 16 months old and has been eating tons of pasta lately so we are at a loss of things that he will and can eat besides rice, potatoes, fruits, and veggies. Any advice or info is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Betsy Oriolo, MS RD LD CDE Total Nutrition Therapy, LLC www.eatright123.com NOW AVAILABLE! MARKETING YOUR PRIVATE PRACTICE CD-ROM! Guest guest
Look at the labels for pasta. P & R typically does not have any eggs nor do most of the store brands. I also have a severe egg allergy and there are a # of uncooked pastas that are egg free. The ones that I typically cannot have are the stuffed pastas such as tortellinis, raviolis, or any freshly made pastas. Usually the more expensive the pasta, the higher the risk of eggs being in there (my husband always said that I was a cheap date because all the expensive restaurants use more eggs:)) I have also seen ( and used) egg free egg noodles in Walmart (don't know the brand). Nasoya puts out an egg free mayo made with tofu which is good. I can now find that in the grocery store organic sections, but where you live you may have to go to a health food store. I use Ener- G egg replacer for baking (again in the health food stores or organicc aisles of some stores) which works great for me... Hope that this helps Karann Durr, RD, CDN 16 months egg allergy product question Hello Lists, My son was officially dx today with an egg allergy which includes anything made with egg (emulsifiers, etc). Guest guest
Also I cannot get the flu, measles vaccine, they said dyes for certain procedures and certain anesthesias can also react with people who have egg allergies. I know when I had sx the anesthesiologist said to always let them know about egg allergies. Karann Durr, RD, CDN
