Unless you had a larger decompression done. Is this indentation along the incision line? If so, this might be atrophy of the muscles. 's " little ditch " along her incision line has become deeper over the last year and a half. Was just noticing yesterday how deep hers is. 's neck muscles have become weak/damaged and I wonder if in her case or others if the muscles have atrophied - maybe this is why she or others have problems with continously holding their head up?? Guest guest
With chiari surgery the bottom portion of the skull is removed. After surgery I now have a deep indentation where the skull bone was, by the end of the day is is about an inch deep.....and feels very tight. I am wondering is this normal????? Or maybe the start of a problem????? Thanks!
Guest guest
Tory and everyone, Rick has this " ditch " too....(good description!) and the doctor said that it was caused by the muscles not re-attaching properly and separating. I guess it means that he didn't heal properly, but apparently it isin't a big deal because the nsg said that they don't repair it when it happens. Guest guest
Hi, I want to add to this because Mason, age 4, has this also. His indention is getting more pronounced as he grows. I am not sure if it is because he is growing taller and thinner, or if it is something else. He does hold his neck all the time, but he is not complaining of many headaches, so who knows what is going on.
