Do we even KNOW what splenda does in the body when absorbed? How does the body metabolize it? (I've not bothered to research it, I'll admit, since I won't recommend artificial sugars in general.) Now, the rifaxamin recommendaton - that's about treating the SIBO, not the IBS! (I think I mentioned how my brother's MANY years of flatulence was pretty much cured after a hemmoroidectomy - he doesn't recall the meds he was on, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if rifaxamin wasn't one of the antibiotics used!)
