Guest guest
Thanks Moria, I visited the link and according to it, I should take 350mg of ALA per day, split into 8 doses. However I am already taking Flaxseed Oil supplements daily to ensure I get enough Omega Fatty Acids, as I am vegetarian and don't eat fish. It is also part of a course of supplements I am doing for Candida. However I have read at http://www.health-truth.com/articles/candida-elimination.asp that detoxification of mercury should only be done AFTER the Candida has been cleared from the body. Does this mean taking Flaxseed Oil is a bad idea for me right now, with Candida? The brand I am taking (supplied by Holland & Barratt - see http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/scriptshb/htmlos.exe/003092.12.39296304 20800006873? For product page) contain 570mg per capsule, and the dosage is 2 capsules per day. In other words 1140mg per day, split into 2 doses. This is 3.25 times more than the dosage info on your site. Does this mean Holland & Barratt are supplying a product that gives people an overdose? Or am I safe to just go on taking it twice a day with meals? And most importantly, if I take it in this easy form, will it still have a beneficial effect on any mercury in my system? One other thing - the dosing page doesn't seem to state how long one should continue the on/off dosage for, in the case of 6 large fillings for example. Thanks in advance. Guest guest
Oh Chris! Whew, you almost lost me! Okay, all I can say is with all the talk about fish oil and flaxseed, you MUST be thinking of ALA the essential fatty acid. (Oh please say I'm right.) The ALA being discussed here for chelation is NOT an essential fatty acid and is not in oil. Whew. Hope that you feel better now? --humm--- or maybe just more confused? Alpha lipoic adic. Also abbreviated ALA. Tricky, huh? NOT alpha linoleic adic (not sure if I spelled it right). /files/Glossary FWIW I'm a vegetarian too. As for the candida, well, if you can get it under control some, that's a good thing. But then again, mercury tox can CAUSE candida, so it's a bit of a vicious cycle. Opinions vary as to how much to treat yeast before chelation. A lot of people seem to agree that you won't really get rid of it till you get the metals out. My personal opinion is chelate if you can, AND treat yeast (and any other symptoms) as best you can. If it gets where you are too uncomfortable take a break. And try to get really good at treating yeast or whatever is really irksome for you........... Here's some anti-yeast ideas: /files/neutrophils.html I don't know anything about whether flax oil affects yeast. I only know a bit about yeast in general. best wishes, Moria p.s. regarding the " overdose " question, alpha lipoic acid (the ALA discussed on this list, in most cases) is sold quite freely.... so <cough> everyone is free to use it inappropriately and in mass amounts, with or without knowledge about this..... p.p.s. Try reading whatever looks interesting in this file, if you have not already: /files/ANDY_INDEX > Thanks Moria, I visited the link and according to it, I should take > 350mg of ALA per day, split into 8 doses. > > However I am already taking Flaxseed Oil supplements daily to ensure I > get enough Omega Fatty Acids, as I am vegetarian and don't eat fish. Two things: Raw aloe vera from a fresh cut aloe leaf, and RAW, UNHEATED honey (only two brands I know of - 'Really Raw' honey, and YS honey. ALL other commercial brands that I know of are heated, regardless of what they say on the jar. The raw honey will completely eliminate the pain, and the combination will allow the burn to quickly heal without any scarring - but TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE. I have used these IMMEDIATELY, and seen perfect results. The longer you go without, the less sure I am of that.

Thank you.You know I have come to the conclusion it doesn't matter when I hit my goal, I just know I *am*going to . And as long as I am doing my very best to get there, well then that is all I can do...and that is good enough, because I am definitely better off now and doing this than I would have been if I had never made the change..so what if it takes 6 mths longer than I thought it would or what I wanted it to...I will still get there...that is what counts...I will get there...it isn't a matter of *if* I am going to get there, it is just when.
