I would like to mirror the comments made earlier by Steve Moyer about Sen. Gaetz reaching across party lines and supporting the Senate bill; and for advocates to call his office and thank him for his support. Likewise, HB1291 would not have passed if Representative Ed Homan had not reached across party lines and voted in support of this bill. Representative Homan openly challenged the health insurance industry representative and demanded that she back up her claims that insurance mandates would cause an increase in insurance premiums with hard facts and unbiased data.

Please call his office or write him a thank you note for his vote in support of HB1291 the "Window of Opportunity Act." Representative has also sponsored a mental health parity bill that the Autism community desperately needs to support. There a number of folks within our community who need these services as well. Please support Representative Homan's bill HB19.
