They found that while both groups consumed similar amounts of essential fatty acids, those with ADHD had lower levels of the desirable omega-3 fatty acids, and excessive amounts of omega-6. This suggests a difference in fatty acid metabolism in kids with ADHD. A similar pattern has been seen with younger children as well.
