Guest guest
I wonder how long the wait wil be for the Sugar Track. I was at a diabetic education meeting in L.A. yesterday (Friday) and a booth was set up there with a DA person. She had not even heard of the Sugar Track, much less what is happening with it. Re: blood sugar tests Yes, They have the talking claucometer the acucheck compact with the voice box. Tha price is $495 and with prescription you don't pay sales tax. I am wondering if it is worth waiting for the sugartac though? victor à ( ã blood sugar tests > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > How did you folks learn how to take your blood sugar. Guest guest
when the new Sugar Trac was first mentioned on this list, being it has now been finally been FDA approved. Being that I thought this could be a very important break through for diabetics in general, I called LifeTrac, from England, the manufacturers of the sugar trac monitor in the States, and spoke to one of their representatives. He has informed me, this particular talking meter should be available on the market sometime towards the end of this year. Although a price has not yet been set for this meter, it is expected to retail roughly about $150. I hope this information helps, as I have also showed this posting to the health authorities here in England. Guest guest
No Montana, I am not a Diabetic but I wanted to be able to help Crystal when she was having a really bad time of it. What I really wanted to be able to do was to take her sugar level if she appeared to be having severe difficulties such as low blood sugar levels. I am still thinking strongly about this but, so far, we seem to have gotten the wild swings under control. While a temporary very high reading is not a good thing at all it is, from my understanding, not nearly as life threatening as a real severe drop in sugar level. Past some point the body just quits functioning and I guess that point varies from person to person. Cy, the Ancient Okie... Re: blood sugar tests Meter you will use? Are you a diabetic? Guest guest
What do you mean " got good " ? I have been diabetic since the age of 22 months. I did wait until I finished college-and then it took a year to get my first job, but finally it happened. If I had really been good while I was younger, I would not have become blind, but I wasn't, so I did go blind. I then went back to school and finally after 10 years got my first job.During this time I went to school and finished raising my family-and finally realy " got good " about the diabetes because I did not want nay further complications. Guest guest
Oh I understand now, Don't blame you for that one. Now in the middle of the night I had a funny taste but don't know if it had to do with low sugar or not. I had taken a pepsid before I went to bed to get my tummy to settle down. Then it went away. Even Jim at this time wouldn't know what to expect either. Also cheese I was told to get low fat cheese. Some of that tastes horrible. And I have lost five pounds so far since I have changed my diet. So I am on the rite track for sure. I asked if I was loosing quickly and she said no. --Dar --Every Saint has a Past, Every Sinner has a Future blood sugar tests > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > How did you folks learn how to take your blood sugar.
