Healthy Food Choice Toys-FYI

This is a great tool for dietitians, but I wonder why parents couldn't

just teach the kids by FEEDING them such foods AND setting an example so

they SEE healthy food choices. What a concept, huh??

Actually, I think most parents who do what you wondered about are the

very ones who would appreciate a set like this. One is more likely to

find pretend Mcs items for them to play with, or pretend samples

of overly processed foods. So this set reinforces the environment the

parent wants the child to have. Actually, this is the only reason I

would consider spending that much on food toys.

Role playing is a wonderful way for children to develop their

imaginations and gain literacy in many different aspects of life. It

gives children time to practice good manners, math skills, language

skills, (even entrepreneurial skills!) etc. Not to mention it is a

very rewarding way to interact with a child.
