I know that it is impossible for me to get well while I am eating crap food.

I have been eating 9 servings of veggies a day (not hard), taking a whey

shake in the am with added Nonni juice, Yerba Prima (fiber) and hazelnut milk.

Frozen berries in organic full fat yogurt for snack(YUM!).

I eat organic when I can afford it, but ALWAYS buy organic staples; milk,

eggs, coffee. I am very turned off by dairy lately and beef is next. It is not

an

intentional

dislike, just something my body is turning away from. It doesn't appeal to me

anymore. I used to be a DAIRY FREAK! Maybe it's the body's way of healing

and I am just listening this time.

Atkins has always been a Stevia fan.

He used to recommend Splenda too.

As far as saccharin, he said it is the most

tested sugar sub and has been around for many years.

He feels it is safe and all the hoopla was concocted

by the sugar industry.

Since I am die-hard conspiracy theorist,

I tend to agree with him.

OH MY GOD!!!!! I had no idea that sugar could harm the body this

much. I am making a copy to leave in my kitchen for when I get

cravings!!!

Ok, what about Splenda? Does anyone have any info.? It tastes good

and suggests that it does not raise the glycemic index of blood

levels. I think that is why diabetics can use it.

OH MY GOD!!!!! I had no idea that sugar could harm the body this

much. I am making a copy to leave in my kitchen for when I get

cravings!!!

Ok, what about Splenda? Does anyone have any info.? It tastes good

and suggests that it does not raise the glycemic index of blood

levels. I think that is why diabetics can use it.

I have read something about the process by which they make Splenda

eat anything with sugar or sweetners...but when I do I use Suzanne

Somers' somersweet, which is supposedly natural, but like one

calorie. a box of 100 foil packets has lasted me 3 years so far and

I have only used I think 10 packs....if you search hard enough, you

can find damning evidence about almost anything I suppose.

this catagory. Anything processed/white. White flour, sugar, salt, rice,

cereal anything " enriched " actually hurts your body more than helps it.

Anything that is bleached also.

If you must have sugar, there are many alternatives that don't have nutra sweet

or sacchrine. Pure cane sugar or sugar in the raw, Another natural one is

Stevia. For those of you that are hypo glycemic or diabetic Barley Malt is

always an excellent choice because it allows your blood sugars to raise more

evenly and to lower evenly...no sugar spikes and not sudden drops. I hope this

has helped. All must understand a very simple rule....Any thing processed or

white has a saying: Anything that is White is considered White Death! These

products that are processed this way are killing people and it is a slow death.

If you have any more questions please feel free...the best way to eat is all

organic/natural if you can afford it. The best sugar is sugar in the raw, the

best salt is Celtic Sea Salt (excellent for adrenal fatigue too), the best rice

is organic brown rice, the best bread is anything that has live sprouts and is

am SO SO bad with sugar that I can state for a fact that I eat it

with nearly every meal!! Wonder what it does for my thyroid?? I am

By the way, when I watched the last interview done by Larry King

with Dr. Atkins, Atkins stated that it was ok to have one to 2

packets daily (or a small amount--can't remember how much) of what I

consider the worst of the offenders--Sweet and Low. He stated it was

a better choice than Aspartame, at least.

BUT, he didn't mention Splenda, nor Stevia. Wish he had lived

longer!!

Really? Sweet and Low? I thought that has no aspartame but only

saccharin...and I give it to my husband in his coffee to get him off

sugar for years now....now I am worried. Maybe sugar is better? I

can't break him of needing sweets in his coffee. I do know Dr.

Atkins (I saw that one too) said sugar is toxic...not really, but

it's a good way to look at it.

Hi Janie,

A lot of the Atkins products out on the market (including his low

carb. ice cream) contains Splenda. I have tried Stevia but thought

it had an after-taste. If it is better for me though, I will go back

to it. Nutrition is a challenge.

I've read so much about Stevia, can't wait to try the samples you sent..

but there is nothing that I drink that needs sweetening... I might just

have to hang on to it to sprinkle on some fruit.. but I'm really not even

used to doing that anymore... I've gotten so that I adore fruit plain....

Even my peppermint tea I drink straight... never got into coffee and

fruit juices I dilute with water to make them stretch... but it's here as

soon as I find something! heheheeh
