I do have friends that use this product and sing its praises; however none of them have ever been on an antidepressant (I had been on Effexor for 7 years---that includes my highest dose of 150mg and the very long taper I did to get off and thankfully used nothing afterward); I'm off 2 1/2 years.

   As far as this product goes, your " FOR " reference is from the person who holds the patent on the product.  Many of his claims, including the statements about the findings of the various schools are claims that would hold true for any silver product.  He's not presenting a pure science POV here.

Silver is toxic! "    **  This is much too vague and general to be true. It's also rather untrue in ways.  #1 - Sea Silver was merely a vitamin product with silver a one of the trace minerals. Our drinking water has silver as a trace mineral.  

   This person who wrote this is nuts, and really poorly informed. When it comes to toxicity, silver itself is not considered to be toxic, most of its salts are poisonous due to the anions present.

Silver is a transition metal, not a heavy metal, and according to the EPA totally non-toxic to mammals. It is extremely toxic to molds, fungus, bacteria, protozoa and viruses.

MSDS sheets for silver all indicate zero health effects. It doesn't cause cancer.

    Colloidal silver, metallic silver, ionic silver and silver salts are 4 very products.  Silver salts should never be used.  Metallic silver - -I am unaware of it being used at all except in water filters as an anribacterial agent.  This speaks to its safety.  Ionic silver and true colloidal silver  -- great stuff up to 20ppm or so.

  " Silver Shield " -- a load of crap with no true science behind it. 

    Ionic silver and TRUE colloidal silver should be used internally only when it is needed. You don't take prophylactic antibiotics (IS and CS have antibiotic properties).  It can be used regularly on skin for cuts, etc.  Taking silver internally only has a positive effect when the silver comes in direct contact with the bacteria/virus/fungus.  This is almost impossible except for your lungs or areas you can readily see.

   I make my own at home . I use it for everything except inhaling.For slightly over $200 you can have your own IS (ionic silver) generator:
