Guest guest
If your basal temp is a basal temp, you are holding that thermometer under your arm for 10 minutes. You do not add a degree. That is your temp. I've read Broda ' instructions many times and you do not add a degree as you normally would when waiting 3 minutes. Your temps look good! PattiSue Normal Temperature?? ok, as I reported earlier I am not feeling hot all the time now, thanks to a HUGE dose of progesterone cream. My temp has certainly crept up - here are today's temps basal 97.8 10am 98.6 1pm 98.6 3pm 98.0 What concerns me though is that I used a mercury thermometer in the armpit, so actually these temps are 1 degree higher? If that is the case, it would seem that my temp is too high - what do you think? Anyway, it is a vast improvement and really weird because when my temp was really low I was feeling hot and now my temp is higher and I am not feeling hot at all. Maybe because of the low temp my body was responding by putting out too much heat, it's a puzzle Lynda
Guest guest
yes, that's exactly how I have been doing it. Guest guest
more questions! Now that my temps are normal, does that mean I am on the correct dose of armour, or is it the adrenal support that pulls the temp up? I am taking cortef. The only thing that screws up the picture is that I backed off a higher dose of armour on Sunday so that would still be in my system, right? I am thinking this - and please tell me if you agree or not - if everything stays the way it is at the moment, not feeling hot, normal temps etc - I should keep everything in the regimen the same, not change anything for at least a month. Maybe then I can see the bigger picture. If I am on the correct dose of armour, should I start to see an improvement in other symptoms. If only this pain in my legs would go away I would be happy! Thanks for all your help Lynda Re: Normal Temperature?? If your basal temp is a basal temp, you are holding that thermometer under your arm for 10 minutes. You do not add a degree. That is your temp. Guest guest
hmm, I was the opposite, I felt hot but my skin was actually cold and clammy Lynda Re: Normal Temperature?? I feel the best at 98.6, but have not achieved that in my continuous dosing on 4 grains Armour for the last 8-9 years....only now, since I have been using Cortef since around thanksgiving, has my temp come up to 98.2-98.3 and I do feel much better. but some say if you're not at normal tmep, your dose is off...I do not believe this was the case for me. I thnk in my case it was the Cortef. I would say, ESY_ leave things as they are now and see how you are in a month to decide whther your dose is right, etc. My doctor always say that adding Armour if your adrenals are tired can be dnagerous..or at least, counter-productive...also that adrenal supposrt optimizes your Armour dose (unless your adrenals are stong without support.) So I think you are on the right track. For the pain in your legs, check electrolytes...

Guest guest
I saw... but I don't agree... I've tested on myself.. as have others.. and arm put temp is less..... We dont' all agree on everything here... but that is also what makes this group so powerful. If we all agreed on everything there would be no reason to continue to find better answers..... Viva le diferance! (how ever that is spelled! heeheheheheheheh) This conversation reminded me that I've not tested my self for a while.. I'm a nice comfy 98.6 (under tongue) I didn't do under arm - cause then I have to get up and clean the thermometer right away and I'm not in the mood. To be fair... a mild chest infection can run a slight fever.. but I'll back down.. track your temps as you feel comfortable.. what ever it reads you will be able to see if it varies up or down. Guest guest
I am not sure that this is the reason why it helped, but progesterone balances out estrogen and I know that I am severely estrogen dominant. I think the usual dose of prog cream was just " tickling " the estrogen/progesterone balance, by using such a huge dose consistently for a few days seems to have done the trick. I had been using the recommended dose of prog cream for months and it hardly made a difference. Try using your normal dose morning and night with 3 smaller doses spead in between.
