Guest guest
I have a son with PDDNOS. He is 5 year old and doing really well in regular K class with a shared shadow person. Our current IEP (from MN) indicates that he will have a shadow in his first grade. However, we are moving to Miami this summer. I talked to some school officials (Pinecrest/Palmetto) about his situtation. They pretty much refused to look at outside IEP and want to do their own IEP. I am fine with the idea that they have to see/evaluate him. However, it is likely to take weeks and I do not want him/teachers to suffer during the time. Is there anyway they could temporarily accept our current IEP while conduting their own evaluation? Our current state (MN) accepts outside IEPs all the time. Another questions, which schools are more supportive? We are looking at public schools around Pinecrest area (Pinecrest/Plametto/howard drive/vineland/kenwood/ludlam).
