Guest guest
Dear Forum Members, HUMAN RIGHTS LAW NETWORK (HRLN) has filed Public Interest Litigation for CD4 machines in Delhi High Court, Bihar High Court and Guwahati High Court(Imphal Bench), vis-a-vis introduction of adequate and functional CD4 machines within the government run Anti Retroviral Treatment Centres in these states. In the following months HRLN will be filing PILs in the following states of Orissa,Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh on provision for CD4 machine in each government run hospital with the ART roll out programme. Due to the lack of adequate number of CD4 machine in the govenrment hospitals there is a long waiting list for the tests to be done and regular testing is impossible. This leads to a backlog of 3-4 months before which time an HIV infected person has no recourse to measure his CD4 count. Therefore to have CD4 machine available in each ART centre is crucial for comprehensive support and treatment to persons living with HIV/AIDS. Thankyou Warm Regards Ms Laya Medhini Senior Advisor Tashi.C.Sherpa Legal Officer Sophia Program Coordinator, HIV/AIDS and the Law Unit Human Rights Law Network 65 Masjid Road,Jungpura, New Delhi –110 014 Email: hri.delhi@...
