I suspect what you are seeing is responses in which the responder copied the

entire initial letter, and prior string to which it was attached (which usually

shows as >, >>, >>>, etc. in the left margin) (or worse yet, the entire digest)

into the response. If that is the case, there is nothing you - as the reader -

can do about it. It is under the control of the person posting - and it does

seem to be worse lately. I just watch for the string of >, >>, >>>, etc. to end

as I scroll by on the fly.

It is helpful (and I believe has been suggested before) for responses to include

copy only the relevant portion of the message to which they are responding.

When you respond, you can either cut and paste the relevant portion into your

response, or if your server automatically copies everything, use the select and

delete functions to delete the irrelevant portions.

I am not an expert on groups and postings, but is there a way that we can only

see

new postings. These messages that keep repeating are causing me to not want to

scroll

through everything. Is this bothering anyone else?

Any suggestions?
