Guest guest
Hi ,Tricky question, I think some groups that are ''like'' this could actually do more harm than good, but not because they do not want to help but simply because they lack the knowledge on how too. This group is different, because it is led by someone who knows so so much about these drugs and withdrawal. Like you, like most people here, all the doctors I came across were useless in guiding withdrawal and downright dangerous in their suggestions, like you too most did not acknowledge it even existed. The ''grown another head'' perspective is a common one! Their ignorance is scary, I will be forever thankful that I found this group so so many years ago now. This group saved my life, the emotional support created a safety and 's knowledge gave me so much faith, I had finally found someone who knew what these drugs were, someone who was prepared to speak the truth about them, someone who actually gave a dam about people and the damage the drugs had created. Follow Cath's advise to you, you cannot go wrong with it.When you feel like you are faltering, email in, someone will always be here to give you their words of wisdom. Knowing that people have trod this ground and survived it will give you much strength. Our members here are some of the most courageous people I have ever met, I am proud to be part of this group.x Hello , I had many different doctors prescribe these sorts of drugs to me, and not one knew how to safely taper. A few would nonchalantly tell me that if I experienced any problems I could always cut my regular dose in half for a few days and then stop completely. (never cared much for their attitudes) One told me that if I was -that- sensitive to the discontinuation, I could halve my dose, then quarter it, then stop. And then they'd all look at me as if I'd grown another head if I complained about continued withdrawal symptoms. Best advice for me came from this group. Take care always, Tonya > Most people I've com across in 22 years have found MDs almost useless in guiding withdrawal. They often don't even acknowledge it exists. Actually, let me ask some people here to speak up on this. Those who have been down this road find the assistance they receive in groups like this most helpful. Speak up please, folks? Thanks. > >
