Guest guest
When I was active duty Zyrtec came off the formulary. I can't remember what they replaced with with. Maybe Allegra? Have you tried other allergy meds? You might be able to find something that works for your symptoms but still costs the $9. I am going to talk with my ENT next month when I go in and check **************Start the year off right. Guest guest
How many mg are you on per day? If you are on more than 10 mg, you should still need a prescription because I believe only the 10 mg are available OTC. And I agree. I DOES suck! I am on the 10mg. To be honest I am willing to try something else anyway. I am on allergy shots once a week, plus the drugs and still feel like crud most of the time. Its worse than the RA at times. of course I am allergic to cats and dust and I have 2 kitties I refuse to get rid of and how do you curb the dust, lol. I have air thingys and all. Its been a yr, so we are still trying things and of course we don't want to mess with the RA meds so he said we have to be careful **************Start the year off right. [ ] darn drug companies Don't get me wrong, I am all for being able to buy meds over the counter, but I take Zyrtec as well as Singulair each day. We are lucky in that we have a mail order pharmacy thru the military and I am able to get a 3 month supply of each for 9.00. So what do they do, make the darn Zyrtec over the counter now, so no more prescription. Its 20.00 for a one month supply of the darn meds, its bad enough with all the meds I have already with the copays, but basically I need to make a choice, pay the money each month or stop taking the meds. I don't understand this cause so many that really need it are not going to be able to pay for it each month. I am just upset and needed to vent about it. ************ **Start the year off right. Guest guest
I understand your frustration When I was working the same thing was there with all of those on a fixed income. The meds were too high to buy. Many of my patients had to choose food, rent or meds. Until the drug and insurance companies are regulated this will continue to be a problem. I was on 1 insurance and had to change after I stopped working, it took 4 weeks to get a new insurance card so I had to pay full price for my meds. I looked at the old receipts and it showed how much I paid and how much the insurance paid. I figured if I added the 2 amounts then I would know how much the meds was gonna be WRONG.. one showed I paid 35.00 and the insurance paid 75.00so i assumed the med would be 110.00 nope it was 365.00!! I had to decline the med until I could get it under the new ins. It really pisses me off the insurance Companies get a huge break on meds and all we get is * & # & @*#.
