Yes, the weather definitely can make your RA worse!!!! Rain, cold, barometric

pressure changes, humidity. Extra warmth, hot pads, increase the pain meds

until the weather changes and be prepared for everything to be harder and take

longer.

For me, its the opposite, when its cold and raining I feel great, now when

the heat and humidity hit, I am horrible. I actually thought I was nuts till I

talked to my doc and he said that some are affected by the heat and humidity

vrs the cold and wet. When we lived in WA state I felt so much better than I

have since being down here in Mississippi. Of course I did not have allergy

problems up there either and now I am on shots plus meds for that every day

and I am sure that the RA with the allegies makes me feel a lot worse.

Yes, I feel great in the cooler weather and when it rains, I love the rain.

Hate the humidity

Hi, I think this is my first post. I tend to read a lot:-) But the last 4 days

we have had rain and more rain. I have been feeling terrible. I have sciatica,

along with fibromyalgia. Does it help if you keep the moisture out...as in shut

windows and the heater turned up? I have learned a lot from all your posts, and

I thank you.

Liz,

I tend to hurt when there is an extreme change in weather. I thought

for the longest time that the humidity played a part in it, but it

doesn't. I lived in Los Angeles for about 10 years and my RA flare-

ups were occasional. I relocated to Denver, thinking that the low

humidity would help me, but I have more flare-ups and I am in worse

pain then I was when I lived in LA.

If I have a really bad flare-up, I usually get a medrol dose pak from

my rheumatologist. It helps alittle bit. Hope this helps. Take care.

:) yes for me heat helps alot. i usually take hot showers about as hot

as i can bare. what kind of pain are you experiencing? is it stiffness

or that weird burning slash anxious feeling or just pain in general?

sometimes i find distractions work no matter what kind of pain it is. i

use small amounts of bengay near the area and usually the burn takes

away from the pain but you will be cold so have the heater on :)

yes that is the same medication they gave me but as soon as it ran

out i was back in the same position. humidity doesn't affect mine

either and thank goodness too because i live in houston and the

humidity levels can be pretty high. i am seriously considering moving

somewhere where the climate isn't so unpredictable and calmer

Wow!! Someone else who does better in the cold and rain!! I seem to suffer

the most in the hot humid weather in the summer!! The cold really does not

bother me much, but the dampness can get to me. When it gets humid in the summer

months, it takes a few days of pain before my body seems to adapt to it, then

I'm ok. Guess we are all different, huh?
