Guest guest
Hi all. Hope at least SOME of you remember me....its been awhile! Here is my VERY abbreviated background: Ive been sick - and home - with CFIDS and Fibro for 2 years now. I sent my films to Dr Heffez a few months back who said I was positive for a Chiari Malformation and he wanted to book surgery right away. So, I sent my films to Dr. Milhorat for a 2nd opinion. WELL....I just heard back from today (his P.A.). I sent him 2 MRI's -- a regular one of the cervical spine and a CINE of the brain. He said that the regular MRI showed a slight herniation, although it looked like there was plenty of room behind the cerebellum for the fluid to flow. BUT....he said my CINE MRI showed a definite flow problem!! He said it just didnt make sense (kind of contradictory), and so he would like me to see the neurologist they work with, Dr. Kula. And, of course, when I called there to make the appt., I couldnt get one until September 20!!!!! SO.....what should I do???? First of all --- Why would it show only a slight hermiation, and look like there is space, but then on the OTHER MRI it shows a flow problem??? Should I just book the surgery with Dr Heffez and stop wasting time? I am SO sick of being sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope someone can maybe make sense of this. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! ---Michele U. from Long Island
