Guest guest
I JUST WANTED TO ADD TO THE PERCOCET/ VICODIN. They both are Srong narcotics, depending on what mg u are given on vicodin I am on 7.75. They are addicting, but my knowledge with them as I had to learn all these meds before I ever started having to use them as I was a med tech until becoming disabled. I believe addiction occurs when u are put on a med and it is expected only for a period of use. Dependent is totally different, and that occurs when they are used for people like us who can not releive or move without taking a pain med. I am dependent, admit it and have talked to my Dr's about it, they are in agreement with me. If I thought that some day I could or would be without needing a pain med, then I would never have gone on them. I have seen to many addicts in my day, the harm, and the other behaviors that can come with addiction. As someone else had posted they also take them, they don't make us high, they get us through to function thru the day, and get through work or whatever else we need to accomplish. When I worked I functioned, my employers new I was on vicodin and new my situation. So just wanted to clear up the total theory of someone afraid to use them because the fair of becoming addicted. When you have been told u are in this for life, there is no cure for these diseases just hope for some remissions from flareups, and u have as many flare-ups I have had with no stop 24/7 pain and no sleep, believe me the pills come out. I have been holding off, the fact that my group of Dr's think I need to visit a pain clinic and go on an even stronger choice, and I know what they are and that I am afraid of. So again for those of u given these pain meds, I say don't worry about Dependency, and it is weird that some Dr. will prescribe to take tylenol for break through pain, and tylenol pm for sleep as I have been told. I drink lots and lots of water and hope that has helped with flushing out the liver and kidneys. Hopefully if there is something out there that would work verses these meds would be less problem but taken as directed don't worry. One does not last longer then the other, it just depends on how your body metabolizes it as to how long it works for you. They both can become addicting , and without you even realizing you are becoming addicted to them ! Debbie A Have a great day ! -------Original Message------- I am new to this and am on prednisone and salphasalasine. My symptoms have improved alot but still have some trouble. Is there any one out there that has been healed completely? I was diagnosed in dec. 07. my hands and wrists were mainly the problem.
