Guest guest
I'm sorry ! I know it is very unpleasant to be in pain and find no relief. I've had FMS since around the age of 28 but wasn't diagnosed right away. It took a year and a half to begin being treated. Then I began showing symptoms of inflammatory arthritis. That took them time to diagnose. I started Plaquenil and have been on that for almost a year and a half. Yet I still have pain due to FMS and the RA. The Plaquenil took about 6 months to get in my system. I began Sulfasalazine 6 months ago, but before I got to the 6 month point, when it was supposed to begin working, I had to stop taking it due to a 3 month bout of bronchitis, then an upper respiratory infection, then sinusitis. However, I could barely move at all when not taking the Sulfasalazine. I thought because I still had pain it wasnt helping that much. When I had to stop it, I had pains where I had not recently had RA symptoms. I haven't started methotrexate yet. We were supposed to do that at my last visit, but my rheumatologist was leaving U of Michigan and I wouldn't have had anyone to monitor it until I see the new doctor in March. I hope it begins to work for you soon! I take Ultram for my FMS. Are you taking the regular ultram? They have a new one out..Ultram ER and I can honestly tell you, I have more luck on that than I did the regular Ultram. Dosage is anywhere from 100mgs at a time to the maximum dosage of 300mgs. It stays in the system longer and I think it helps me more than regular Ultram. Good luck:) --- <shihtzumom1@...> wrote: > I was on medrol for a few months and it worked > great, but rheum weaned > me off of it now. Guest guest
I am on regular Ultram because I had gastric bypass and the extended release versions of medications aren't in my system long enough to work. Unfortunately doctors are finding that arthritis can be a complication from gastric bypass also. I did have arthritis (osteoarthris) before the gastric bypass though. Now I have rheumatoid arthritis too, eith from the surgery or from age, who knows. My husband has severe psoriatic arthritis as well, and has been on methotrexate and remicade infusions for a couple of years now. He doesn't remember how long it took to actually work. Now, he is at the point of it not working again. Don't know what they will do next. Re: [ ] when will meds work? I'm sorry ! I know it is very unpleasant to be in pain and find no relief.
