Guest guest
I am helping my neice's son who is 3 years old and in a Place Program for a developmental delay who has a serious speech/language delay. After the school's evaluation for speech and not articulation, they have decided to help the child by putting him in a cluster of six children and give him Speech for 1/2 an hour, twice per week. It doesn't take more than simple math to figure that averages less than 4 1/2 minutes per child, per session. If you ask me why a parent has to be compative with the school district, I just gave you one. Unfortunately I was not able to be there at the time of the Interim IEP but their decision will not stand. Their professional certifications should be at risk. I'm taking a defensive stand: no more phone calls; send email. No more completing requests on their schedule; requests will be timely. I'm a pacifist at heart but sometimes war is necessary. Excuse my sacasim but it is directed in the right direction. I've been kind in this area.
