Guest guest
Hi ladies - The subject of nosey folks does not bother me as much as most people. I know in my FILIPINO upbringing, the expectancy is that once you are married, automatic kid next year....and it would have happened, but it was not meant to be at the time. I do have nosey members in my family, but they have not been too brave enough to ask us forthright. Only my mom's friends seem to be the ones that ask out in PUBLIC --- like on Friday when I went Christmas shopping with my mom, we had run into one of her friends who came out and asked us, but I was polite and just told her "Not yet" and then she told me that her son and daughter-in-law don't have any either (they have been married for about 13 years), but not to worry because I'm still young. Now, around our friends and some family members who get embarrassed after asking us (my husband's nieces, ages 8 and 5 came out and asked us one day when we were visiting them in Michigan), "When are you having kids?" We now just answer, "Tuesday!" Everyone gets a good laugh out of it and nobody tries to push it afterwards. My closest friends know that I was suffering from Asherman's, but I have made a decision not to disclose this to my extended family (except my mom and my 3 closest supportive cousins) because some of them would not understand. I just think they are too old world. So that is my approach to all this, knowing what I know now, all I can do is pray that it is in our Lord's will for us to have children and take everything in stride. Thanks for allowing me to share in this forum! Bernadette
