Right now I am coming off Lamictal and looking for some community and advice. I have been on it for a little over 2yrs for Bipolar. In March of 2010 I also went on Lithium 1200mg/day. In Dec I started Wellbutrin 100mg, now at 150mg. I've been coming off the Lamictal, from 200mg/day, since early Oct. So about every 3 weeks I went down 50mg. Dec 31st was my last 50mg pill. I've been having what I describe as a 'Lamictal' headache since, its half headache and also feels like my brain has a head cold or sinus infection, its a very uncomfortable sensation. So I took 25mg tonight and wonder if going back up to 25 for a while and coming down slower would be a good idea? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. After the Lamictal my goal is to come off the Lithium. And finally the Wellbutrin. First things first though. Thanks >> ** Hi , Welcome to the group. Your decreases were too large and it's caught up with you. Talk to your doctor about increasing a little until the symptoms are gone. That is usually most quickly accomplished by returning to the last dose at which you felt well. After that, you would do smaller decreases and wait in between decreases until you feel as well or better than you felt prior to the decrease. Only then is it time to do the next decrease. THe closer you get to being completely done with the drug the smaller the decreases usually need to be. Keep us posted. Regards,
