Is it alright to eat whole wheat products. For example, whole wheat pasta, whole wheat rice, and oatmeal. I also wonder about rye products. I eat rye bread, as your typical whole wheat variety bread, often has added glucose-fructose added to it.>> ** Whole wheat is a misnomer. It is 100% whole wheat but is not whole grain. Whole grain is not ground flour. Of everything you listed, the only thing that is okay is oatmeal but only in oat groat or steel cut long cooking oats. We have articles on this in the files. One of them lists actual whole grains. You said: <<Also, I have been a big eater of oranges, and I drink 2 cups of milk per day. So, I am thinking the milk and oranges have to go? What would some of you suggest for morning vitamin C sources? I do not want to get rid of fruit completely. There are many fruits that have antioxidants in them. Unfortunately, I live in Canada, and buying berries is super expensive to make it part of an every day ritual. I would have to buy the frozen kind. >> ** The milk certainly needs to go. The orange, 1 a day, is certainly fine but just to give you some accurate info on Vit C, an orange shipped from a region that grows oranges to a climate that doesn't leaves an orange with barely if any Vit C left in it.
