I am really a lurker more than anything, but when I saw this, I had

to comment...

When someone sees me using the handicapped parking space and they

feel obligated to tell me I am in that spot, I just say, " Really???

You see, my handicap is, (and I do raise my voice at this point) I AM

BLIND AND I CAN'T SEE! So thank you so much for telling me I made it

to the right parking space! " That usually quiets them down pretty

quickly! :)

Good responses ladies! I feel the same way when I use my scooter and someone

says to me " Oh, I wish I had one of those! " ... I typically say, and it has

happened often, " No, You Don't " ... some just don't get it, one woman apologized

to me saying she didn't realize what she had said.... I wish they would

understand that I would give them the darn scooter in a heartbeat if I could be

walking even, and without pain.

nna,

All you have to do to get a handicap placard is to contact your local BMV and

get a paper for your Dr. to fill out or you may be able to download it off the

internet site. After dr. fills it out take it back to BMV and they will give you

the appropriate placard or you can get handicap plates. Hope this helps. Pamela
