Guest guest
Hi Everyone, My name is , I live in Northwestern NJ. I was diagnosed with RA in March 2007. I started Methotrexate in June and have been taking 20mg every Wednesday. I am also taking Prednisone 10mg on Sat, Sun, Tues and Thurs. Stopped taking mobic recently when the prescription ran out. I also have Graves' Disease for 12 years but that is currently in remission. All the other meds I take are for the side effects of the RA medication (Folic acid, zocor, lisinopril/hctz, boniva, calcium and vit D). I take Ultram for pain and Ambien for sleep, both as needed. My question is how long will I stay on Methotrexate before being evaluated for adding or changing to something else? The last six to eight weeks I feel like any progress I have made is disappearing, with increased stiffness, pain and muscle fatigue. What have your experiences been. Please note I have HMO insurance so I'm sure they have time constraints if they pay for other medications at all. I will be seeing my Rheumy today. Thanks
Guest guest
HI , MTX takes 4-5 months to really start working. I have been on it for a year I think and it has helped with the pain. I am supposed to start Humera if my stupid insurance ever decides to approve it. Heidi M On Feb 19, 2008 8:35 AM, <iMarzz@...> wrote: > Hi Everyone, > > My name is , I live in Northwestern NJ. Guest guest
Hi Heidi, Just got home from the rheumatologist. Referrel of course expired - big hassel. Anyway he wants me to start Remicade infusions - as soon as, guess what - my insurance company approves it. Thanks for your response. Good luck with your insurance company and I hope these drugs work for us. Dumont, Bergen county? I live in Hardwick, the northwestern most end of Warren County. Jersey girls. Have a good day,
Guest guest
I am glad he gave you something to start. Yep Bergen county. We are just East of Paramus, or West, LOL I never have had good luck guessing directions. Better to say exit 165 off GSP. Good luck with the Remicaid.
