Guest guest
<<Is it ok to use colloidal silver for an UTI while you are withdrawing? I took my first cut of 2.5mg of paxil from 30mg, 2 months ago and seem fine. My doc prescribed Bactrim for UTI which made me very ill feeling and I stopped it after 1.5 days and it did clear the UTI. That was ten days ago and I still don't feel well from the rx. Now the UTI came back 4 days ago. I am reluctant to try another antibiotic. Lynne>> ** Hi Lynne, Colloidal silver is useless for this. Silver is excellent for killing bacteria but it has to come in direct contact with it to be effective. This doesn't happen when you take it orally. Best uses are topical and inhaled (the latter for lung infections). Are you taking cranberry extract tabs or caps? I think it is probably necessary to take an antibiotic at this point. Unfortunately, when you give bacteria only a taste of an antibiotic (1.5 days) you are teaching the bacteria to recognize the antibiotic and alter itself to become resistant to that antibiotic. It's the worst thing you can do. It's not a good idea to stay on an antibiotic causing you problems but you should immediately switch to another when this happens. It's not always necessary to go full cycle on the antibiotic, but you should go at least 3/4ths of the way. If it is 5 days or less, never cut the cycle short.
