Is it necessary to go with these diets or do you think the guidelines on here for healthy eating is enough? >> ** The diet you see here in the files is a generic guideline for healthy eating. It is not meant to be used as a therapeutic diet. A diet to heal is geared specifically toward each individual's needs determined through an evaluation. I haven't talked about this in a long time so this is a good time to mention it again. Anything you read here is not advice on how you can get well. It is merely a generic guide to help you get an idea of these things. It is absolutely impossible for all people to do the same things and get the same results. These things we do are nor drugs that force unnatural actions upon the body. They are things that are compatible with the human body. But in order to be of any significant assistance it first has to be determined your biochemical needs. For instance, some people benefit greatly from inositol whole others feel worse from it. There are reasons for this but these can only be determined through testing or a series of questions. This is the same case with magnesium. We talk about magnesium in the files but there are 14 different kinds of magnesium. Which one you should have can only be determined through testing or a series of questions. Something that really frustrates me is when people say something along the lines of -- " I tried your plan and it didn't work for me. " What goes through my mind is, " No you didn't. You couldn't have. I don't recall ever working with you and interviewing you to get the necessary information to give you a protocol to follow. So unless that's happened, you're not following my plan. " Then I open my mouth and say exactly this to them, lol. People think that what is in the files is a plan. I make it clear in a document everyone receives upon joining that while you'll probably be doing healthier things for yourself than you have been doing if you follow the ideas in the files, these are not meant to be protocols for healing. For many years, people asked me why I didn't write a book. It is because to be truly therapeutic with someone they have to be evaluated as individuals. You can't do that in a book. So, while the GAPS and Body Ecology diets (and articles/books) are better than how most people today eat, anything that claims to cure everything from AIDS to Alzheimer's and claims to be able to tell you this via a book, is not to be trusted. I was appalled when I first saw the subtitle of –McBride's book. This merely takes advantage of desperate people. The best plans you can get for wellness are done when you get individual assessment.
