Guest guest
Hi , I took Sulfasazine for 6 years. I just stopped it in August 07 because it lowered my iron & platelets too much. I took 4 grams a day (or 4000mg/day -- 8 pills). Did your rheumy tell you to drink lots of water? My rheumy said that I should drink 1 glass of water for every 500mg I took. (not to be too personal, but your urine should turn from orange to normal color when you have had enough water). Not drinking enough water could contribute to feeling nauseous. Take care, Steph in VA My Dr restarted my Sulfasalazine 2000mgs a couple of weeks ago after having had to stop it for a few months due to bronchitis and illness. I'm supposed to be taking 3000mgs but we wanted to get my body adjusted to being back on the medication again first. I started the increase to 3000mgs yesterday and am experiencing uncomfortable nausea. Does anyone else get any side effects like this when increasing a dosage? I did fine on the 3000mgs in the past, but I've been off it for so long and was only taking it for a little under 6 months before I had to stop when becoming ill with the bronchitis.
