Guest guest
Folks ere we go off on a discussion about this, I have to say that whilst those who have been on the group are concerned that advice is not taken up by Allstar, we can't begin to surmise on the group as to if he is that that or the other and why he doesn't want treatment. Each person has a right to decide for themselves. We can only give people ideas to work with, we cannot say this is what you must do. The opposite to allstar is the man who is a prime candidate for active surveillance, but insists on taking drastic radical treatment. I suggest we let this subject drop until Allstar wishes to share his status with us again and just be there and support by listening to and empathising with him. Group owner Re: We lost another brother Fuller,I think you're out of line here. Did someone give you the right to "out" this man? We all have the independent ability to look up old posts and arrive at our own conclusions. It seems if you're not judging someone for their choice of treatment modality then you judge them for something else. And, don't tell me for whom to pray.Albert .. Guest guest
Thanks I read the post's daily and check in from time to time, when I comment it usually allows me to share how I feel at that particular time. I do have a Dr.'s visit coming up and plan to share my stats. I am a sober member of AA and have been sober 11 years. Guest guest
, I'm a sober member of AA as well...two weeks away from my 18th Anniversary, with the help of my higher power! Just want to add for the group that I feel very fortunate for my experience in AA. Not only that it has kept me sober - though that's its most important purpose for me - but that it introduced me to the concept of support groups, like this one. Before AA, I had little experience sharing problems or feelings. Since then, AA friends and other members have been a huge help to me in facing major life crises like this cancer, job transitions, and the deaths of my parents. It seems that men, particularly, have trouble developing the ability to share and admit fears and I'm so grateful that AA helped me be comfortable doing that. That's all...just wanted to share those thoughts. For the record, I'm 56 and was diagnosed 2 years ago with a PSA of 6.3, Gleason scores of 3+3 and 3+4 in 20% on one side. Had BT in November of 2006 and have been doing well since. Recent PSA was 0.3. Thanks all! Alcoholic?
