Guest guest
! I'm glad you said that. I will want one bolt of ribbons. We have 5 hep and liver disease support groups in this area and I know they would love to have one! I got mine at the AASLD conference, but would like one of those too. I'll get with ya on when I got $35 haha. I'm returning back to work next week (ick) and will want em in a month or so if that's ok. alley/ ICQ 12631861 alleypat@... <mailto:alleypat@...>
Guest guest
Oh Brigite, I'm so glad to hear from you. I'm glad you liked my question of us having some sort to symbol to unite us. I know how you feel. I was explanted on July 19, 2007 and am currently battling a staph infection. Here's a partial rundown of the last 2 months for me: I've been a very sick puppy again. On October 2nd, I ended up in Emergency at Women's College Hospital. My right breast had filled up again with another seroma and looked like it was going to burst where the incision had healed. My Surgeon froze my breast, did a quick surgical procedure, drained it and packed it as an open wound. The nurses come twice daily and re-pack the dressings. Yuck. On October 22nd, I was feeling really rotten, had a bit of a temperature and had a foul odor coming from the wound. You guessed it - I ended up in Emergency again. They weren't able to figure it out on the spot and did some tests. I went to the Surgeon Friday and we figured out why I'm not healing very well and why I feel like crap. I've got a staph infection. It's not too severe and it's being watched very closely. I'm on antibiotics, etc. I'm really hoping I'll start healing once I get rid of the infection, otherwise, it's back to surgery for me. I'm off for at least another month. The soonest I'll be returning to work is December 3rd. Sending you prayers and hope Love, Traci --- BRIGITE <KissofSadness@...> wrote: > Keeping with the posts about this, in response... > > I was just thinking about this the other day (seeing > the pink ribbons > all over this time of year). > > Many colors actually have various meanings. Guest guest
Very interesting post from Brigite. I really really like the idea of having a " day, " color and possibly a symbol. I don't think we should change the name (my opinion) I think breast implant survivor day fits it perfectly. We are all survivors of this horrible illness. I think Brigite is correct in saying that the horseshoe symbol probably isn't fitting. It's cute, but she's probably right. The color and day really need to be something that is going to " stick. " I do like the red and white striped, the only downside is that it reminds me of a candy cane, but I still like it. I do like the idea of a striped ribbon. Is there a day chosen yet? Honestly, I don't like October 31st. To me, Halloween day feels like " the day of the dead. " I would rather have a more uplifting day, like something in the spring possibly. I think if we all put our heads together, we can really get this going again. I just LOVE the t-shirts that Lynda sent. My favorite is " breast implant lab rat. " I would so wear that around town, I'm sure I'd get tons of questions and looks. How do you all think my implanted friends and family members would feel about THAT? Let's do this! Guest guest
Krista, Oh yes girlfriend, get the shirt and then walk around in public with your friend who just got her " silicones " ! I agree, I think that we should keep the name too and a spring color would be nice! Hugs to you!
