Guest guest
I sure hope you get some relief. Funny how everyone worries about the MTX, when I talked with my doc he said the predisone was a last ditch drug because it causes such problems. I had asked since so many on this list are on this. i feel so lucky that the mtx and humira are keeping my RA under control. I guess also I should say I have never had any problems with the MTX, I take it once a week but found that if I take it at night I do not get the sicky feeling, but no hair loss or anything since the doc says it is such a low dose. Guest guest
I'm glad you finally have the diagnosis you need to get the help you deserve. According to my Rheumy, MTX is the cornerstone of care and has been used for many years. It is tolerated well by most people usually with very few side effects. What have you got to lose - stiffness, immobility and pain. It has helped me significantly, although I will be adding remicade in the near future. I wish you the best of luck. It's not a miracle - it takes several weeks for the full effect but I hope it helps you. > > for years ive had trouble with my knees, this last year was beyound > terrible. i went from holding on to the walls to walk, to a cane then > to a walker even then i was kinda laying over the walker dragging my > feet along..i went no where was almost completely bedridden just going > to the bathroom and back..every month they would give me a predisone > run which helped for a couple days, but that was it..finally into a r.a. > doc my knees where so huge, and hands so red and swollen i could not > get on the table..i had shots in my knees and i go back next week for > the drug mtx...i hear some scary things about it but im desperate..but > this same doc who 5 years ago told me to go to jenny craig and i was > depressed.realized i had ra bad (totally diff. doc this time) im > actually happy to hear a diagnosis...so i can start to feel better!!And > play with my grandson again!!!!!! >
