Laurie, How far into this are you? Are you still on induction? If

so.......the muscle aches are potassium loss from the initial dehydration

that ketosis gives you. You will need to perhaps take some extra potassium,

and make sure you are getting your potassium rich veggies, they help alot

also.........use lite salt, it contains more potassium than other

salt......the cold, yep.......I am alot colder and everyone teases me about

wearing socks, and 2 sets of fuzzy slippers, a sweater with a sweater over

it LOL........but I am in -50 Iowa right now........let me know where you

are in this wol, what level, how many weeks, what vitamins are you

taking.......there are some suggestions.......Annie

Laurie,

Both my husband and I experienced this when we very first started the diet... Once our bodies adjusted to the new way of life, they went away, or maybe they are still there, just not noticible anymore... =) It was almost like a buzzing... =)

Induction is the first 2 weeks of Atkins where you are supposed to keep your

daily carb count under 20 grams per day. After that, you gradually raise

your carbs to find your continuing level.

Welcome, DJ!

Induction is explained very well in Dr. Atkins book, Dr. Atkins' New Diet

Revolution. You'll find it in Chapter 8, to be exact. I really encourage

you to pick up a copy (it's very inexpensive in paperback) or check it out

from your local library. You'll learn so much about how and why this way of

eating works so well to control not only weight, but other health issues.

I'm glad you found us, and I hope you'll enjoy being here. Have you started

eating low-carb yet? If you need more information about just about any

aspect of low carbing, here's a link you might enjoy checking out. It's a

major league resource for us Atkids!
