At first I was on 75mg 2x a day and could not handle that dosage - got kind of dizzy, etc. So we switched the dosage around, and we stopped the other NSAID which I now cannot remember. My doctor SWEARS BY Indocin for PA. He says it's an old one, but a reliable one and when I started it my balloon size feet went back to normal. I'm also on Prednisone & MTX now though and I am seeing new worsening of joints so have more changes in meds coming up thurs I'm sure. I just wanted to share with you that the Indomethocin worked wonders for me in place of ******* ...the one that I cannot remember.. but it was a " new " one. Guest guest
Cool......hydrocodone......Isnt that one of those pain killer's? Those work every time..... >>>>>>>Hi All, snipped *I was in so much pain and so upset by this i just broke down and started crying. I called my Dr. to see if i should double up on my 25mg. dose of vioxx or what. He prescribed Indomethacin 50mg caps. Said that it was " better " for arthritis. He asked me if i wanted a narcotic for pain and i said no... that i could call him back if i had any trouble. Then turned around and said he would call both in anyway. He gave me Hydrocodone/apap. This was the dr. on call not my regular dr. I took the hydrocodone after the NSAID. I feel a little better. (and a lot drowsy... lol....) I am so grateful the oncall Dr. had enough compassion to help me out! Angie<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Guest guest
I had a lot of trouble with falling when I was a little younger(20's & 30's). It doesn't happen very often now. I usually had no warning that it was going to happen and I would just go down. It usually was an indication that I was headed into a flare. Guest guest
Zoe, I second 's nomination. When I was small my grandmother had that plaque on the wall that said " I wept because I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet. " I sincerely wish I could take you to lunch, the park or anywhere in public where we could proudly show off your beauty and grace in the face of such adversity. Your terrific spirit comes through in all your posts. I appreciate you so much. Cheri :-)) P.S. I appeciate you too . I have stopped taking effexor so am chatty again so watch out ;-))
Guest guest
Wow! Here I thought I was just a total klutz! As a child I was somewhat uncoordinated, but extremely flexible. My knees, when not flaring up, hyperextend (literally, bend backwards) and I get about 2 " shorter! (how tall are you? 5'4 " or 5'6 " depending on how I adjust my knees). I've got a shoulder that slides out of joint too. I have always been an avid swimmer, and I think that kept my joints strong and kept me from getting seriously injured as a child and young adult. Even after six years of pa, I still remain hyper- flexible when not in a flare-up, and (knock on wood) have very little joint damage. I have noticed that falls seem to be a pre-cursor to a flare-up for me. With the major flare-ups that I have had, I can recall falling...out of nowhere, just falling down as I was walking...the week or two before things got really bad. I really freaked out a co- worker with one fall, since it happened out of the blue in the middle of the office. All I could say was " I fall down sometimes. " Good to know I'm not a freak. in NC
Guest guest
Cheri, I am so sorry for taking so long to email. I was in so much pain and just the stress of the Hoildays to where checking my emails was the last hing I could do. Thank you for the wonderful words you said to me. I agree, it is a struggle to keep going on but I do try not to get any lower than on bended knees. You sound like such a wonderful person yourself and I send those nice words right back to you. Guest guest
Hi , I'm so glad you are ok....I'm very afraid of falling, too. How long has it been since your surgery? I'm such a klutz so I try to be really careful. I hope my day won't come for a long, long time, and I hope you never go through that again! > > Hi all, > I just wondered when and where would be the first time I fell. > Yesterday being the good girl that I am, decided to take a lunch break > walk. Guest guest
, Oppsey daisy! Sorry you had a fall...I too was lucky that my first fall didn't come til after things were prety solid...but it is stunning to find yourself on the groud looking up, isn't it? I hope these doc's are right that we haven't too much to worry about after the fusions are nice and solid....at least no worries that anyone else doesn't have. I guess I do worry more about being in a car accident that falling these days. I hope your bruises are fading. Take Care, Cam
