Guest guest
Hello Group, Thanks Alan for your information chalked full post...a bit difficult to read not being in the med. field, but I'm still reading. A thought keeps coming to me. If Proton Beam Therapy has fewer side effects due to the way that it delivers the radiation, thus missing important organs, and does not exit the body, then, common sense dictates that side effects would be less. I know that one of the side effects that the oncologist initially told us of was the 30% chance of impotency w/ IMRT. Also, wouldn't this side effect not be a side effect with Proton Beam Therapy? Or is permanent potency problems a part of PBT too? I would appreciate all ideas before tomorrow.
