Guest guest
Hi All, the subject of VA disability benefits came up on another Yahoo group this morning. If you served in Viet Nam and have been diagnosed with prostate cancer, it is presumed that there is connection between the cancer and Agent Orange exposure. All you have to do is provide proof that you have been diagnosed and proof that you were there, via form DD214. Go to www.vba.va.gov and click on disability compensation. There is a link whereby you can apply online. Gregg has been receiving 100% tax free benefits since February, 2007. The monthly checks are for $2669.00, and by now, this money has covered the out of pocket costs for treatment in Loma . At some point his case will be reassessed and if the VA deems him cured the amount will be reduced. He will, howver continue to receive benefits, tax free for life. Our friend has been getting the money for the three years that he has been doing active surveilance. We learned about the benefits quite by accident while I was corresponding with a wife whose husband had been treated at Loma a few years ago. I try to remember to let new folks know from time to time. Laurel
