MTX + Anti Inflammatory???

Does anyone take MTX with an additional Anti inflammatory besides

Prednisone?? I think I need one and will discuss this with my RU next week but

was

wondering if any one has had success, or if is even possible? Right now I'm

10mg pred and 4 MTX pills. Swelling is terrible and spreading causing once un

effected areas to now become barely useable.

I take 8 mtx 2.5 ml each and 4 prednisone and the swelling stays down i was

off the prednisone and the swelling and inflamation came back had to go back

on till i get approved for enbrel, my ra dr is workingon that now.

Hi Mandy,

I take Meloxicam. I don't have any side effects from it and it seems

to help a lot. I can not tolerate Prednisone; it makes me crazy. He

will probably increase your MTX, that is a very low dosage. I

started with two and worked up to 7. After being on it for years I

don't think it is working for me anymore..which the doctor said can

happen.

I take 7 MTX pills weekly and plaquinel 200mg twice a day!
