Guest guest
Is Plaquenil the only medication you take? I wonder perhaps if they can give a medication to help with pain while reducing the Plaquenil? I take Ultram ER when I am having really bad pain flares to help somewhat! I hope that you do well on reducing the dosage --- AngelHuggles <AngelHuggles@...> wrote: > Hi , > ty for your reply. i know thats what im afraid of > > I just cant have that right now to deal with. > ughhhh. > hugs, > dawn > > > Posted by: " stephanie " stephieann2@... > stephieann2 > Sun Mar 2, 2008 7:44 pm (PST) > I've been on plaquenil for a couple of years and if > I > miss a dose of it or my Sulfasalazine, I notice in > increase in my pain levels > --- Bethany Viau <the2viau > ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Guest guest
Hi Steph. nope thats not all i take but its one of the important ones. hugs, dawn Re: plaquenil cutting down in 1/2??? Guest guest
I just had to cut one of my medications out and I'm already noticing it:( I had been on Naproxen for an NSAID and I think we stopped it because it was not working or maybe it was bothering my stomach. I was switched to Voltaren (Diclofenac). My rheumatologist recently left, so I got to transfer back to my previous one who had left the hospital but has since returned. She said due to the fact that I have had abnormal elevated liver functions since 1999 without them being normal once, I never should have been put on that, its one that is hardest on the liver. She told me to stop it immediately, and to give it a couple of days. If I began to hurt, to call her and she would phone something in. Since I take 2 each day, everything already hurts!! It's so frustrating when we have to reduce or stop a medication --- AngelHuggles <AngelHuggles@...> wrote: > Hi Steph. nope thats not all i take but its one of > the important ones. > hugs, > dawn > > Re: plaquenil cutting down in 1/2??? > Posted by: " stephanie " stephieann2@... > stephieann2 > Mon Mar 3, 2008 12:50 pm (PST) > Is Plaquenil the only medication you take? Guest guest
I was just prescribed plaquenil. My Dr said it was the least toxic of all out there right now. I did not know it would effect the liver so badly. I have some other information you might be interested in. Email me at thechaneygroup3@... and I will be happy to share with you. Some other RA suffers referred it to me and I am happy that they did. > > > Hi Steph. nope thats not all i take but its one of > > the important ones. > > hugs, > > dawn > > > > Re: plaquenil cutting down in 1/2??? > > Posted by: " stephanie " stephieann2@... > > stephieann2 > > Mon Mar 3, 2008 12:50 pm (PST) > > Is Plaquenil the only medication you take? Guest guest
Hi Angel, Is it the Plaquenil or the Voltaren that your doctor said is hard on the liver? I take Plaquenil and I did not know it to be particularly toxic to the liver. Meg in PA --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Try it now. Guest guest
Hi Meg! The Plaquenil is fine, its the Voltaren that shouldn't be taken if one has liver issues. The rheumatologist that took care of me while my previous one who is now back and treating me, gave it to me while she was gone. She took me off it immediately. Now however, I am in the worst pain and can barely stand, walk, or lift my foot off the ground to get up the three steps when I am outside. My knees aren't bending very well either. This is the first time I have been off an NSAID and its not very pleasant:( --- M Diskin <cubreportr@...> wrote: > Hi Angel, > > Is it the Plaquenil or the Voltaren that your > doctor said is hard on the liver?
