Hi All,

Just got from back the NH. My mom is doing very poorly right now. She has

pretty much stopped eating, has had one fever after the next, one UTI after the

other and possibly has pneumonia now. I very much got the sense that we are

coming to the end but I can’t say for sure because mom has bounced back

before. Its going to be very hard to lose her but she has been suffering for

years now. I hate LBD with a passion.

Thanks Donna. This was the first time that I actually thought that she is

nearing the very end. Again, she may rally and surprise us again but her body

is clearly showing the signs now.

Dear Courage,

I'm so sorry to read this. I understand the emotional roller coaster you are

going through, too. We hate watching our loved ones suffer, yet we don't want

to lose them..... I hate LBD too.

Sending you hugs and strength

Dear Courage,

Your mother seemed to be into the final stages when I joined here years ago. I

can't believe how long she has fought this beast, have thought of her often

through the years. Caring for her has been so ingrained in you it will be very

difficult to let go. You and she may well deserve the award for longest

suffering from LBD. I'm very sorry for what you and she continue to go through

but you well know that once she has won the final battle she will be at peace

and comfortable. I send you strength as you have to so many of us here and

accolades for a loving job well done on her behalf.

Oh Courage, I am so sorry to hear this. You mother has been a real trooper. I

have so many memories of your stories through the years. She is sounding like my

Jim at the end, but I hope your mother bounces back. It is always so hard to

tell, because they do have a way of bouncing back.

Jim also had a UTI and Pneumonia at the end. What did him in, was he had a

health directive that he did not want any life saving help, so when he could no

longer take medication orally, they could not give him an IV for antibiotics and

the UTI and the Pneumonia took over his body. He also stopped eating, but I

believe because he felt so horrible. My prayers and thoughts are with you

through this difficult time.

Hugs,

Jan

Dear Courage-

You are like family, as is your mom. This really tugs at our heartstrings.

Dear Courage,

I know this place well. I wish you much comfort and peace that comes with

knowing you have seen that your dear mother has had the best quality life as

possible and what more can any if us hope for with this terrible disease? I'm

so sorry you and your family have had to go down this road. I hate LBD as well.

Much love and prayers to you and your mom

She is now resting just a bit better now that they have been giving her morphine

shots but the end is coming soon. I have said all I needed to say to her, thanks

her for being my mom and told her that she can let herself go when she is ready.

Lots of tears then and now.

I am so sorry you have had to go through all of this. My heart breaks for you as

well. My mother passed this last Tuesday . It was a peaceful end to a horrific

disease . I still grieve the person she was but I am so happy the person she

became is gone. My prayers are with you.
