in reguards to your e-mail are u going back referring to the marshall thing?

I am new to site and have been also just starting to look at it, as I am

sceptical to anything new I am not familiar with. So there is a diet to it?, I

have not got that far, I already am not a dairy person nor Soy and still feel

pretty bad. The eliminate healthy grains, this seems to be the new thing in all

the diseases now, all of them are all of a sudden caused by diet. But I don't

get it so if u stop with all the food like fibers and stuff, and like u say, low

carb really is the way to go for alot of people, what does this do now to your

cholestrol?, as I had been told a couple yrs back I needed to go on lipitor,

along with all this other diagnosis I was getting, so I did, but after trying x2

D/C'd that med also due to side effects severe enough that I would chance the

heart attack, but I did up my exercise, and really paid attention to diet, I am

not a eater at all but what I did eat

did not pay attention to fibers,oats etc. once I did I was able to lower the

cholestrol. So if this TX is to do with not eating low card foods, what about

the people who also may suffer with this and say diabeties? Where did this TX

originate from. As I once took care of a gentleman who had a terminal brain

tumor, he was put on some type of life habit change and his condition did change

and tremendously that his cancer Dr. could not believe, he gained his walking

ability back etc., but I always ?? in the back of my mind, was it real meaning

would it last, well long story short, it gave him false hope, when he went for

another Cat Scan the tumor itself never shrunk, he gained some quality life back

but he still passed away within his time told by oncologist. I only hope

whoever goes through all this life change which may cost $$ to do so altering

alot of lifestyle that this proves to keep them in remission with the disease

they are fighting. The best to all who

suffer.

Vitamin D helps prevent certain cancer, rickets, and

helps in aiding that you don't get osteoporisis.

Recent studies have shown that those with chronic pain

are lacking in vitamin d so somehow this may correlate

to our pain levels as well. I agree with diets, but I

don't see a vitamin being harmful to my health.

Hi,

I'm not sure where you got this information but this isn't correct. Vitamin

D deficiency IS an issue in this country- esp where I am from where there is

not enough son. Vit D is also implicated in a variety of different cancers as

well as pain.

Have you ever had your VitD levels (there are more than one) checked? Many are

deficient and don't have a clue until problems ensue. Those of us in the

Northern part of the US do not get enough Vit D during the fall and winter. Vit

D deficiency is being looked at as a possible contributing factor in a number of

illnesses including Multiple Sclerosis as incidences of MS are much higher in

northern areas. When Vit D levels get too low they take concerted effort to

raise. Vit D is also necessary for assimilation of calcium. In addition,

extremely low and chronic Vit D deficiency can have a very detrimental effect on

the parathyroid glands. We need adequate Vit D.

Vitamin D level

Vitamin D is essential for healthy bones because it's needed for calcium

absorption. But new research also is identifying an important role for vitamin D

in the immune system and in the prevention of cancer, including breast and

prostate.

Studies show that more than half of American women don't get enough vitamin D.

It's known as the " sunshine vitamin, " because your skin makes it when you're out

in the sun. That's why people who lack daily sun exposure or who use sunblock

when outdoors may be deficient in the vitamin. It's almost impossible to get

adequate amounts from foods, despite fortification of dairy and some soy foods.

All multivitamins contain vitamin D, but for most people even that is not

sufficient. You may need to take a vitamin D supplement. Most people should get

between 1000 and 1500 IU of vitamin D3 daily. (D3 is the natural form of vitamin

D. It's more easily absorbed and stays in the body longer.) The best way to know

if you're getting enough vitamin D is to get a blood test.
