Guest guest
Hi, I have another question for the group. Robbie is now on insulin based on what he eats rather than on a set dose like before but I still don't know when it is best for him to take his insulin. The doctor originally said for him to take it at least a half hour before meals and that was when he was mixing humalog and humulinNPH. When he was in the hospital they gave him one when they brought his meals and the other whenever they remembered it after his meals, but that is neither here nor there. What I need to know is when he takes his humalog before meals should he take it a little before or just as I give him his plate? The pharmacist said that since they gave it to him with his meals rather than before that I could maybe get by with that but I want to do it correctly now that he has had near normal readings for the last week or more. Thanks all,
