I can remember just sitting there staring at those little pills for the longest time until I finally got up the nerve to take them. I'm so glad I did!! MTX is helping me immensely. I'm on 15mg/week. After being on MTX alone for about a year, my Rheummy did add Enbrel to my mix, which also helps, but if I had to be on only one drug, I'd pick MTX. I do take Leucovorin (folinic aicd) 10mg/week as well at the MTX to help combat any side effects from the MTX. I'm very lucky in that I don't really seem to have any side effects from the MTX. Hopefully, it'll work well for you with no side effects!! Good luck!! dordale --------------------------------- Never miss a thing. Make your homepage. Guest guest
I have been on methatrexate since nov and i haven't had any problems with exscept some hair loss but they also have me on folic acid to help with that. I was also scared at first when i found out about this disease, and all the different meds that you can take i am taking 4 prednisone a day and 8 mtx a week and 1 folic acid a day, they have really helped me to be able to do most of the stuff i used to do before this happened O In a message dated 3/1/2008 8:46:28 P.M.
