Re: Relafen or Lodine????

I have been on both and I feel Lodine controls my pain MUCH better than Relafen.

Actually, the Relefan hardly touched my pain.

A word of wisdom...if you do any urine tests while taking Lodine please be

sure to tell your doctor who is running the test. Lodine can give false

positive bilirubin urine results. It scared the heck out of me when I saw the

results before the doctorhad time to explain. My liver is fine BTW, just the

false positive.

Good Day Good Folks...

I'm waiting 3 months to see a rheumatologist and infectious

disease doctor. During the interim GP gave me two prescriptions

to choose to take until I see a rhuemy when the Celebrex

samples run out...which is in 3 days. One is Relafen and

the other is Lodine. I could hardly get out of bed this

morning and the needle pricks at night and lesions on my

breats and pain are just so much worse at night.

Has anyone been on either of these meds with any success? I

need to try something before I get to see a specialist.

Or is it a tossup. From what I have read so far...they both

are about the same but don't know why he wrote two scripts?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks Shandi...

I am going to try to request a script for Celebrex until I see

the rheumy.

I have been tolerating it okay and with the Alleve....4xday...I will

somehow manage

until then. Every new med always carries that potential for the

side effects they

list in their literature.

Some days are just better than others....I will celebrate the good

ones :)

Thanks again.

Hi Betts, I took a ton of Lodine when I was first symptomatic. I can't remember

the dose, but it was more than the standard amount. I found it helpful, but it

does take a few days to kick in and I used Tylenol at the same time for pain. I

later switched to Vioxx and Celebrex and I found they all worked pretty much the

same. It seemed to help to set an early alarm and take the Tylenol while I

still had an hour in bed. That way when it was time to get up, the Tylenol

helped a bit. Feel better, Kate F
