Guest guest
This is probably a reach but I keep reading that RA usually is in remission during pregnancy and then flares after giving birth. So under that thinking would going on Birth Control Pills which as far as I know work by tricking the body into thinking its pregnant lessen the RA symptoms any??? Just a thought. Guest guest
Hi Mandi, Birth control pills don't really trick the body into thinking it is pregnant. That being said, I used to have horrible menstruals and have been on the Pill to control the bloating/cramps/etc. on and off since I was 15 (I'm 30 now). Once I was dx'd and was taking so many other meds it was easier to remember to take the Pill, I did notice an improvement in my other pain. The Pill is important, according to my rheumy and gyno, because I should not get pregnant while on Methotrexate. Take care, Steph in VA This is probably a reach but I keep reading that RA usually is in remission during pregnancy and then flares after giving birth.
