Guest guest
Hi: Thanks for your e-mail today. Those bad days are awful!!! I take Plaquenil 2x a day, plus Sulfazene 3x a day, plus MTX 1x a week, prednisone 5mg. a day, Leucovorin 2 tab. 1 a week. Also, have blood work 1 x a month. Having many flare-ups, but they are longer apart. I feel badly that you are suffering so with this disease. I am sure it has changed your life, as it has changed mine. I try to stay positive, do what I can within the confines of R.A. How long have you had R.A.? How old are you? I am 68. I thought the color of this type might cheer you up!!! It does me!!! Does the weather where you live make you worse? I have great drs. here, and a wonderful Rheum. Dr. I am trying to over-come R.A., but it is such a battle. I am at the max. of MTX, and I don't want to do Biological drugs. Please know I know how you are hurting, and I sympathize with you. Hope you feel a little better tomorrow. Guest guest
My Plaquenil took about six months. My Sulfasalazine took 6 months and still didn't do as much as it should so the dosage was then increased. --- ~ Kami ~ <kamilleon@...> wrote: > I have been on Plaquenil nearly 3 months and my > family doctor has expressed concern that I have not > started to have any relief from the Plaquenil.... Guest guest
Kami, I am on the same medications that you are on (plaquenil, sulfasalazine) and I started to have relief I think in about 2 weeks. If you are not having any relief after 3 months...I would talk to your rheumatologist about another course of action. I know the frustation with the trial and error of finding something that works for you. I hope you find relief soon!! > > I have been on Plaquenil nearly 3 months and my family doctor has expressed concern that I have not started to have any relief from the Plaquenil.... Guest guest
Kami, I started on Plaquenil at the end of November. It just started to work the beginning of March. It can take up to 6 months so don't give up yet. --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Search. Guest guest
Hey Kami -- it took me 5-6 months to really see the difference with the Plaquenil. It made a big difference though.=
