Actually it is my husband who has polymyositis not me but he refuses to use a

computer even at his office. :-((

I call it " old guy syndrome. "

Thank you for the name of your rheummie and since she is not that far from

our house I will keep her link in my files.

(Yes, I Googled her. <g>)

By the way, your name is one of my favorite names so please do not be

offended when I tell you that Becky is the name that we chose many years ago for

our

now 12 year old Golden Retriever.

I love my doc, Anu Chadha. She is relatively new but is wonderful. I wish I

could see her for everything.

Please tell me more about this doc. I guess when I finally have a flare I

can't handle I will have to see a doc. Maybe I can find at least one doc that

is decent. With my lucky however and my crappy insurance....she is probably

not on my insurance plan.

Toni,

We (Bob and I) found Dr. Fiocco to be a caring gentleman plus all of his

staff was quite lovely to both Bob and me so we have been very pleased with him.

Dr. Fiocco takes a conservative approach and is rather soft spoken but if you

look at his profile at and White's site you will see that he is more

than very well qualified so he does not need to have an ego to prove his

abilities.

My husband is in the insurance business so he does go through the bills with

a fine tooth comb and we have yet to have a problem but I thank you for your

sharing your experiences with me.

Our son is an attorney however in his spare time <g> he is also a volunteer

licensed paramedic who is often a guest speaker on legal issues as they relate

to emergency medicine at various conferences throughout The USA and of course,

Texas <g> so he has the contacts that keep us in the know when it comes to

medical resources.

That (our son's contacts) is why we ended up going to and White's Round

Rock's ER as opposed to staying with one of the other practices here in

Austin.

I cannot tell you how caring they have been all the way from the ER doctor,

to our current internist (here in Austin) , to the cardiologist, to the

neurologist, to the radiologists to Dr. Fiocco.

On the negative side I will say that I did have to jump up and down a few

times when it came to getting Bob's EMG scheduled that same week but as soon as

I

said we could do it here in Austin it was scheduled for the next day.

Over all we have been very pleased but please do know that I am also very pro

active and if things should go the way they did for you I, like you will not

be singing the praises of any of the physicians who would treat anyone the way

that you were mishandled.

If that day should ever occur then our next step would be either Houston or

Dallas but until then I am just happy to say that Bob (my husband of over 35

years) is doing very well and for that I will always be grateful.

I am from Austin with a wonderful dr. I was diagnosed last year with severe RA.

My first meeting he asked what I wanted the most with him and meds. I had just

gotten engaged and told him I wanted to reduce the pain so I could walk down the

aisle in heels. He made it happen. He listens and explains things about a

million times until I get it. I love dr. Chase!!!

I have seen Dr. Cepada in Austin. He was ok. He was not steller. Keep in

mind if you are on private funded disability he does not like to fill out ANY

paperwork.

Dr. Chase is a rheumatologist. He is one of the doctors with capital medical

clinic located on 38 1/2 street. I had an appointment for about a month and a

half before I got in to see him. He also only sees new patients on wed.
