I was on MTX and after about a year of trying and tons of nasty side effects

I went to Arava. No side effects at all. Worked great for me. Now I am

currently off all meds. No rheummy at this time. I fired him. He was horrible.

So

we shall see.

Hi Toni,

I was on Arava for 6 years and it worked awesome for me. my symptoms

were virtually gone.

at first losing my hair was freaky enough that i almost went off of

it. my hair was really falling out. my doc dropped me from 20mg to

10mg and my hair quit falling out. Once my body got used to it i was

able to go back to the 20mg and my hair was fine and grew back.

Last April my liver function test came back very elevated. Doc

thought it was the arava and took me off of it. After 4months my

tests were back to normal so it was the Arava that caused it.

Why would i be fine for 6 years on it and all of a sudden it effects

my liver? i have no idea but i'm on Humira now.

wish i could've stayed on the Arava because it worked wonders.

Hope it works as well for you!

Lori,

I tried Humira. It was horrible. I had lots of issues with burning and pain

from the injection as well as site reactions. Not just normal burn a little

while injecting. This type of burning lasted for hours later as well as my my

skin turned scalded red color.

so because of that I choose to stop it. The pain from the injections were

not worth the risk to me.

I have a lot of problems with side effects from meds. I also have problems

with meds that work to begin with then stop working or I start to develop all

kinds of side effects.

Right now I am on Lodine XL as needed....and that is it.

I really like the Arava but with no rheummy then there is no one to do the

monthly blood work. Not to mention with my insurance the cost is prohibitive

for me.

Toni
