I for one would much rather be burning stored fat! There's so much to burn

after all!!! I think it is also possible that if we tend to be overeaters at

all - and I know I am one of those - it is very possible that we ingest far

too much fat and it is perhaps the reason for our many stalls. After my

vegetable detox for the next two weeks I shall be adding protein back in

minimal quantities and keeping my fat to 2 tbs per day. Good luck with your

Stillman challenge...and may your year ahead be an exciting one.

I think it can be used for a few days to boost the Atkins diet if we get

stalled.

It would help if we had the bppk..MMaybe there is more to it then was posted.

Actually it is NOT the high protein or low carb itself that puts us into

ketosis, rather it is the F A T .... read BUTTER, OIL, MAYONNAISE.... so

while this " Stillman " diet may temporarily work as far as water loss, I

doubt it will FILL YOU UP like Atkins does. Really the effects of ketosis

are best experienced. But then again YMMV *s*

NOTHING ELSE IS PERMITTED ON THIS DIET--NOTHING! IF IT'S NOT MENTIONED IN

THE FOLLOWING LIST, DON'T EAT OR DRINK IT. 1. LEAN MEATS,with all possible

fat trimmed off. Includes beef, lamb, veal. Eat it broiled, boiled, baked

or smoked. No butter, margarine, oil or other fats or grease are to be

used either in the cooking or the eating. >>>>>

That's like saying all you lose from Atkin's is

" water " Stillman is pre Atkins. It's not for everyone

and that's okay :) But it works, it works great. It's

not as easy as Atkins's but not a whole lot is. And,

after you are on it a few days, similar to Atkins,

your hunger is greatly diminished.

I personally need a boost--I know Stillman will give

it to me--in a big way.

In everything, YMMV

And, isn't ketones the left overs from burning fat?

So,yes, if you eat a lot of fat, of course you'll be

in ketosis from dietary fat BUT if you are not

ingesting fat, the ketones that are produced are

actually from the burning of stored fat, not dietary.

I was under the impression that that was pretty

accepted?
