Guest guest
Dear : I would just like to back the others who have been adamant about your being able to get your records. OF COURSE YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET YOUR OWN RECORDS!!!!! THAT DOCTOR IS BEING VERY STRANGE!!!! I have often gotten my own records, lab reports, files and/or ultra sounds. I have picked them up myself, or had them sent to other doctors. I learned how to do this effectively when I had a breast cancer scare. No one gave me much of a hard time then. During my fibroid oddessy it was a bit harder sometimes, but I got all the copies I needed nonetheless. I was not charged for files. Usually there is a fee for the ultra sound copies. Once or twice I have been looked at funny, I'll admit. But I think that is due to my sudden turning up and landing more work in someone's lap than they had thought they were in for that day. I always try to be as polite as possible. However if they give me a hard time, I will just call or show up more often, always nicely asking that I please be given my copies, until I ge t them. I am concerned that this doctor of your is the last person you would want to perform a procedure on you given how much you trust her right now. In your place I might just begin the quest for a new doctor and get all new tests done. Many doctor want to do there own tests anyway. But in the mean time still politely be asking for your records. By certified mail if necessary. Before having my myomectomy I got four opinions. I learned a lot from each visit. Good Luck. I am usually a wimp but I do stand up for myself when my health, or that of my families, is on the line.
