Thank-you very much Aisha for going to the trouble to ask your friendabout Bre. Please tell him Thank-you for me also. I watch Bre carefully, and she reminds me of myself when I was little.

Dear Helen,

I send him those very words *smiles* so you thanked him yourself! LOL ... and it was absolutely no trouble at all.

Love Aisha.

Hi ,

I must have missed something. Are you having surgery for scoliosis or

revision surgery? Is it being done by a Toronto doctor and if so are

they using Harrington Rods or a newer type of surgery?

Please reply.

Robin,

What types of personal items are you seeking/receiving for the Silent

display? I could use your assistance in gathering the appropriate things to

send. Please send your reply off-list and if you don't mind, give me your

email address for future individual questions or responses.

Thank you so very much for your message, Robin. And best wishes to you

given your recent marriage. You are blessed. Ken and I would be

celebrating our anniversary on the 18th, if he were able.

mom to attend, tons of web info. to check out, and a whole lot of new

Hi Taryn,

I am just down the drag in Cape Town and know how Wade feels. The Van

Stadens Bridge (when I lived in PE) seemed a good option at times. At one

stage there was only one rheumy in the Knysna area. I do not know if he

still practices, he lives in Sedgefield and operates from .Hisname is

Orlando Meyers. Voltaren is okay, I suggest you get a Uric Acid done to see

if he has gout as PA often gives a raised Uric Acid. As regards to falling

pregnant, if Wade is on Methotrexate you will possibly have a problem. It

acts as a spermacide. As regards to pain meds, a suggestion is Doxyfene,

Lentogesic or Synap Forte --- all on script so contact your GP.

Regards

Graham

Thanks so much for your reply to my message - I showed Wade, who is

so thrilled that I have found a bunch of great people who can all

relate to his condition. He is a bit of a technophobe, but has said

that he would really like to chat to every-one and ask questions, so

I'm going to show him how, and then he can talk to you too!

Hi again Taryn,

Sorry it has taken so long for me to get back to you. I am always days

behind with reading and/or answering the mail.

That's great that Wade is going to swallow his fear and join in. lol I

think he will find it beneficial to be in touch with people who can identify

with

what he is going through.

With regard to the appointment with the specialist, get Wade to think about

what he wants to say about how this disease is affecting him, maybe even write

it down, you know, what joints are affected? When it is at its worst? Does

it affect his sleep?

If you are hoping to have children Methotrexate(MTX) is out. I don't know

about the other meds though but if he discusses that with the specialist he will

take that into account when he is considering meds.

I am currently on Indocid R, MTX, Folic Acid and Enbrel.

I was on Myocrisen(Gold) for about 10 years and it worked well for 9.5 of

those so maybe he could ask about that.

I hope he manages to get some help soon and we will look forward to hearing

from him too.

Good luck to you both for next week,

I just wanted to take the time out to thank all of you. I finally

don't feel like I'm going crazy when I'm here. I'm going to get blood

work done, I'll keep you guys posted. I hope everything turns out

better for you all as well, I can't imagine what you guys are going

through this has been 3 years for me and I'm at my breaking point I

can't imagine dealing with this for longer than that. Also you all

have given me many ideas of other things it may be. One of the post

was about animal bites and scratches. That shocked me. I never would

have thought about that but I've been bitten and scratched hundreds of

times litterally.lol

You guys have just inspired me not to give up, and I was SO close. Ok

now that I'm teary-eyed here going to make an appoint and get blood

taken.

Thank-you thank-you again!

It's very good to get the blood tests done! My aunt

got scratched from her pet cat several years back and

got very ill. She had symptoms of Lyme and Lupus, but

after several tests it was an infection she got from

the cat!

Since I been sick not with the crohn's but the fibromyalgia, I have found support very hard to find because people don't believe that you can be in so much pain, or they think its in your head, then in 2002 my sight went funny i ended up with double vision which can't be fixed my muscles have given up working together in both eyes so they block the sight in my left eye. then this year i got told that i didn't have cancer of the bowel but crohn's disease.

then the best thing that has happened this year was finding this caring group just days before i was admitted to hospital with this hole in the bowel.

each of you has your own cross to bear but you suppport each of us without judging us, though none of us will meet in person you show love and kindness. this support, love and kindness is the best medcine any of us can have and unlike normal medcine its free.

i'm so grateful to have found you all and i welcome you into my life and apart of my virtual family

so please take care and gentle hugs to each of you.

thank-you all for being here for me and everyone else

love

Mandy
